Seeing double, and then some

Since school has been closed, students in Photo I, Photo II, and Digital Art have been choosing from menus of creative projects, trying new techniques and technologies that can be easily accessed from home. Using mirror and kaleidoscope photo apps, they’ve turned everyday objects into playgrounds of pattern, shape and color, many delighting “that was SO FUN!” Our art classrooms may be closed, but #theystillcreate.

Countdown to the Cafeteria Mural is on!

Artist Jen Swan will be working with students in the National Art Honor Society this year to paint a mural in the cafeteria, funded by the Southborough Education Foundation. Jen’s portfolio includes murals at the Assabet Valley Collaborative, Worcester Arts Magnet School, Claremont Academy, National Grid, and many more. Jen studied at Rhode Island School of Design, and also teaches at the Worcester Think Tank, where arts and science come together as perfectly as peanut butter and jelly. Our collaboration will begin in October, with sketching on the wall to start sometime this winter, and completion by May. Many thanks to the Southborough Education Fund for your generous support!
