Algoncapella At Wick Choral Festival

Algoncapella performed on Saturday, January 27 at the Wick Choral Festival at St. Mark’s School in Southborough. They were one of eight high school groups who performed that night and were treated to a performance by the award-winning Nor’Easters from Northeastern University. This is the third year that they’ve performed at this Festival. The Myron A. Wick, Jr. Choral Festival is a two evening a cappella festival offered annually in memory of SM alumnus Myron A. Wick ’33, and in honor of his lifelong enjoyment of singing. It was established in 1992 through the generosity of the Wick family and friends. The Festival always includes an audience singalong of Lida Rose, Myron Wick’s favorite song.

First Gig of the Year!

Students from Mr. Eric Vincent’s Jazz Improv class had their first “gig” of the year on Monday, October 2 at the Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston. They performed an hour of jazz music at the St. Rose of Lima charity golf tournament. The annual event raises money for youth services within the local community, and it provides an opportunity for our music students to put what they do in the classroom to use in a real world setting. IMG_3969
