Tri-M Coffeehouse

Algonquin Tri-M Chapter 2137 will host the 10th annual Open Mic/Coffeehouse on Wednesday, May 1 at 7pm in the ARHS cafe. The evening will feature 16 performances including a poetry reading, dance troupe, a cappella groups and solo performances.

Admission is $5 and $3 for Class of 2019. The event is sponsored by Armeno’s Coffee and Lowe’s Meat Market. Delicious goodies and coffee will be available to purchase throughout the evening.

Make Room for the Arts!

March 6-8, the Fine & Performing Arts Department hosted Arts Expo Week: MAKE ROOM FOR THE ARTS to celebrate Youth Art Month and Music in the Schools Month. Student artwork was displayed in a Pop-up Art Gallery outside of the cafeteria. During all lunches, students in the Fine & Performing Arts program demonstrated a taste of the arts through live music, drawing, painting, and wheel throwing demonstrations.

Algonquin Musicians Selected for All-State

Five Algonquin musicians were selected, after an extensive audition process, to perform as members of the Massachusetts All-State Music Festival. They will rehearse over two days with the top high school musicians from the state and perform at Symphony Hall in Boston.

Congratulations to Julia Kardos- voice, Harry Marble- voice, Maya Sagarin- trombone, Sravya Tanikella- voice, Justin Wang- violin, on this great accomplishment!

Music Fundraiser

The Northborough-Southborough Music Association is hosting a fundraiser at Northborough’s Mooyah on Wednesday, January 30 from 4-9pm. This fundraiser will help the NSMA provide more financial support to the music programs and students of Northborough and Southborough in grades 4-12.

The only requirement is that the purchases are between 4-9pm and mention NSMA when paying for your purchase. The fundraiser applies to both take-out and dine-in options as long as you mention NSMA.
