Holiday Festival Tonight, 12/19

Join the Algonquin Fine & Performing Arts Department in their annual Holiday Festival, Thursday December 19 at Algonquin Regional High School. Small ensembles will perform in the rotunda and lobby areas starting at 7pm, while cookies are served and Art is displayed by Algonquin art students. At 7:30pm the concert in the auditorium will begin. The choirs, orchestra and Jazz I Band will perform some Holiday favorites. Our traditional finale continues: alumni are invited to join in the combined grand chorus with orchestra rendition of White Christmas. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students, NSMA members are free.

Art Club 10/16

This year the art club will run monthly with specific activities geared towards students who want to try something new! You don’t have to be in an art class to participate! Signups are open to all!

For October we will be doing low-relief carving on pumpkins. Please sign up ASAP via the QR code. BRING YOUR OWN PUMPKIN!

NAHS members Rachel Sampaio and Leah Grinblatas designed a shirt to honor the retirement of Mr. George Hancin, after 24 years. The order is open to any and all, through June 20! SAVE THE DATE(s)!

May 14th from 5-7PM

The spring art show is fast approaching! Save the date for May 14th from 5-7pm. Come and view the work, chat with the artists and enjoy a light snack. Then, stay for some Juried Art Awards and the NAHS Induction Ceremony. This is a great night to come and support the Arts!

2019 Spring Art Show

 

June 6th at 6pm

The Gallery of the Boroughs in C211 is hosting a Farewell Exhibition for Mr. Hancin. George Hancin has been a teacher here at Algonquin Regional High School for 23 years, and is retiring this June! Come and wish him luck in his retirement, while viewing his collection of personal artworks from over the years. This is your chance to stop in and honor this Algonquin Legend! Light refreshments will be served.
