Check out the October Issue of “The Beat”
Open to Guests on Tuesday June 8th from 5-7pm.
As the year draws to a close, please take a moment to view the wonderful creations from the many of the art students this year. The Algonquin Art Show has always been an important cultural aspect of our department and school. Students work hard every year to create artworks which they are proud of.
This year, the format for art classes took a non-traditional approach. Students had to try new or different materials, complete certain artworks at home rather than with constant support in a classroom, or see projects redesigned to fit a hybrid model. Despite these many challenges, they were able to create art at a time when expression has become more important than ever before. The value for students to see their work displayed to their community holds more weight than in years prior to the pandemic, because of how many hurdles they have to overcome to make these creations.
We are so happy to be able to offer families an opportunity to view the resulting artworks, and show our community how our students have risen to the occasion! Click here to register for the Art Show on June 8th.
Join us in the library for our first of two art shows this year. Our first show features work from Algonquin Seniors. Students and faculty may view the show during the school day. The show will also be available for viewing to outside guests such as family and relatives on May 25th from 5 to 7 pm. Pre-registration is required and can be found here.
The Gallery of the Boroughs is hosting its first exhibit of the year in the Library this week. The show features work from two local artists, felting artist Cindy Kennelly from Sudbury and acrylic painter Amy Roberts of Lowell. Please stop down to the library to view these beautiful works. The show will be on display through Wednesday November 23rd. Reception after school until 2:30 on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th. Stop by and view this collection while you can!
