Underclassmen Art Show: June 7-11

Open to Guests on Tuesday June 8th from 5-7pm.

ARHS Library

As the year draws to a close, please take a moment to view the wonderful creations from the many of the art students this year. The Algonquin Art Show has always been an important cultural aspect of our department and school. Students work hard every year to create artworks which they are proud of.

This year, the format for art classes took a non-traditional approach. Students had to try new or different materials, complete certain artworks at home rather than with constant support in a classroom, or see projects redesigned to fit a hybrid model. Despite these many challenges, they were able to create art at a time when expression has become more important than ever before. The value for students to see their work displayed to their community holds more weight than in years prior to the pandemic, because of how many hurdles they have to overcome to make these creations.

We are so happy to be able to offer families an opportunity to view the resulting artworks, and show our community how our students have risen to the occasion! Click here to register for the Art Show on June 8th.

2020 Alumni Art Show

Come view the 2020 Alumni Art Show at the Gallery of the Boroughs in C211!
This diverse collection of work features digital art, photography, fibers, ceramics, glass, illustration, and printmaking. The gallery will be open throughout the school day for students and after school until 2:30 for public viewing. It will be up through the end of February, so hurry in to view the work, and see what Algonquin graduates are doing with art in their lives! Don’t forget to sign the guestbook, too!
This show was coordinated and curated by two students, Natalie MacDonald and Logan Fossey. They worked extremely hard to bring this show together over the last few months. With some last-minute help from our 2nd semester Gallery class students, the show came out beautifully.
Want to know more about how to be part of our gallery team? Would you like to help select the artists we showcase? We meet after school on Thursdays until 2:30 in C201. Or join the class for next school year, sign up for Gallery & Marketing during course selection in March! Hope to see you soon!
