Overview: “Wegmans…THE MUSICAL” was written in 2012 by Maura Morrison’s Advanced Drama class after the town of Northboro welcomed the first Wegmans store in Massachusetts. It’s the story of twin brothers both managing competing supermarkets in Northboro. One is wildly jealous of the splash Wegmans makes in town and plots to destroy its success. There is also a couple who gets engaged in the store (this really happened) and a missing elderly man in the frozen foods aisle . The songs include parodies from RENT, Les Miserables, Wicked, Hamilton and Eminem. Six years have passed since Wegmans… THE MUSICAL hit the Algonquin stage. Can you believe they’re letting them do this again?! This minimally updated version is shamelessly called; Wegmans… THE MUSICAL 2.0!
