On Wednesday, March 9, Algonquin hosted the Central District Jazz Festival. Eight area jazz bands performed for a panel of adjudicators and received feedback in clinics after their performances. 

Algonquin Jazz II, conducted by Mr. Henry Morel received a silver medal for their performance. Algonquin Jazz I, under the direction of Mr. Eric Vincent received a gold medal and an automatic invite to compete at the MAJE State Finals. 

Lead alto sax player, Connor Jenks, received special recognition from the judges. The panel selected Connor as the division I MVP! 

Congratulations to all the performers- it was a great evening of music! Bravo!

The MAJE State finals take place on Saturday, March 19 at Norwood High School. Time is TBD.
