Daniel Yergin,
Vice Chairman, S&P Global
Daniel Yergin is a respected authority on energy, international politics, and economics, and a Pulitzer Prize winner. He is Vice Chairman of S&P Global, and is chairman of S&P Global’s CERAWeek conference, which CNBC has called “the Super Bowl of energy”. Dr. Yergin’s book The New Map: Energy, Climate and the Clash of Nations is described by NPR as “a master class on how the world works.” He is the author of the bestseller The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World. Dr. Yergin’s book The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil Money and Power was awarded the Pulitzer Prize, was a number one New York Times bestseller, and has been translated into 20 languages.

Mr. Peterson serves as a senior advisor to S&P Global. He was President and Chief Executive Officer from 2013 to 2024 and served on the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2025. Mr. Peterson is a member of Morgan Stanley’s Board of Directors and is Executive Chairman of OneChronos, a technology company leveraging advances in auction theory and computer science to optimize financial markets. In addition, he serves on the Temasek Americas Advisory Panel. Through a mix of organic investments and strategic transactions, including the successful integration of IHS Markit in 2022, Mr. Peterson transformed S&P Global to realize its vision of “Powering Global Markets” with data, analytics, and benchmarks. His dedication to the company’s people, customers, and partners, combined with his emphasis on international expansion, innovative technology, early adoption of AI, and leading sustainability services, forms the foundation of the company’s strategy today. Under his leadership, S&P Global returned over $30 billion to shareholders, and the company’s market capitalization increased from $16 billion to over $150 billion. Before joining S&P Global in 2011 as President of the company’s credit rating business, Mr. Peterson was the Chief Operating Officer of Citibank. Over his 26 years at Citigroup, he served as CEO of Citigroup Japan, Citigroup’s Chief Auditor, and in leadership roles in Latin America, always delivering growth through exceptional performance. Born and raised in New Mexico, Mr. Peterson received an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College.
